MASHHAD Septage Wastewater Treatment Plant Project
:AIM OF PROJECT
:PROJECT LOCATION
MASHHAD CITY, NORTH KHORASAN PROVINCE, IRAN
The first and largest municipal wastewater treatment plant in MASHHAD, IRAN; using the septage method with combination of physical, chemical and biological treatment processes.
During recent years, the discharge of sewage tankers containing high-polluted wastewater (with microbes, heavy metals, etc.) was one of the most important reasons for the pollution of the historic KASHAFRUD River. An issue that caused a serious health threat for the people downstream of the river in order to use the water for plant agricultural and edible crops.
To solve the problem, the project of organizing the KASHAFRUD River was started by the MASHHAD municipality in 2018; and in the first phase was the construction of the septage wastewater treatment plant.
